About Us

The Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana (CBTG) is an association of companies registered to promote sustainable gold industry in Ghana, promote partnership of members and to lobby Government on gold trade policies and laws and to discourage illegal trade.

As an advocacy group the Chamber was established with the prime objective of promoting and protecting the interest of its members. It promises to take along the members in its journey of creating better environment for dealing in sustainable gold in the country and commits to stand by its members in the course of doing transparent business.

Prior to its formation, a strong need for a body representing gold dealers and related activities at national level did not exist. There was the need for a body that can champion the course of members, put forward their concerns among government, statutory bodies, development partners, traditional authorities and other stakeholders interested in achieving a sustainable industry for gold merchants in the country.

The Chamber has, therefore, been formed to collaborate with policy makers and others with the aim of influencing laws and policies for the advancement of the gold trade in the country.
